AI brand monitoring: what AI says customers think of you
AI brand monitoring in Citeon AI asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity every week what customers say about your business and up to three rivals, in your market's language. Each answer is kept with the review sites it cites, its tone, and what customers praise and criticise in the engines' own words. Google ratings are read live beside it, and social mentions where a network allows it.
- Every week, four AI engines are asked what customers think of you and up to three rivals.
- Praise and criticism are copied word for word from the answers; a phrase that is not in an answer is never shown.
- On Optimize and Enterprise, with mentions on eleven networks and news sources.
What AI brand monitoring is
Before they buy, people now ask an AI engine what other customers think. The engine answers in a few sentences, from the review and community pages it reads, and that answer becomes your reputation for that person. You cannot see it unless you ask the same question yourself, on every engine, in every language your customers use, every week.
Citeon AI does that for you and keeps every answer. You see the tone of each engine's answer, the sites it relied on, and the exact points it says customers praise and criticise, next to the same reading for your rivals.

How the question is asked
| Part | What Citeon AI does |
|---|---|
| Engines | ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. Google AI Overviews and AI Mode are results pages, not chat answers, and are not asked this question. |
| Question | What do customers say about the business, and where the reviews come from; written in ten languages (English, Dutch, Italian, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, Danish), English otherwise. |
| Markets | Your own country first, in each language you track questions in, then up to two more countries you sell to, each in its own language. |
| Rivals | Up to three: the competitors you keep as peers first, then the ones AI names most in your last 28 days. Marketplaces and media are left out. |
| Cadence | Once a week, after your scheduled scan. |
| What is kept | The answer, its links, the review and community sites among them, its tone, and the phrases customers praise and criticise as the answer states them. |
| What it never touches | Your visibility figures: a reputation answer never counts in the mention rate, recommendation rate, share of voice or the question allowance. |
Where AI reads your reviews
When the engines answer what customers think, they read review sites. Of 159 answered reputation questions across eight workspaces between 10 and 12 October 2026, 88.1% cited at least one review or community site.
The same pattern holds on every buyer question: across 6,916 answers that cite a source, reddit.com is cited in 19.1%, en.wikipedia.org in 11.1% and youtube.com in 6.3%, while a business's own website is cited in 0.6% of answers (the data). Your reputation in AI answers is written on other people's sites; this page shows you which ones.
Google ratings
For a business customers visit, the rating and the number of reviews on Google are shown for you and for your rivals, read from Google each time the page opens and never kept, as Google's terms require, with Google Maps credited. A business that only sells online has no listing to read, and the page says so instead of showing an empty figure.

Prices and the rest of each plan: pricing. Where your name stands in the answers themselves: the AI visibility tracker.
Questions people ask
What is AI brand monitoring?
Watching what AI engines tell people about your business when they ask what customers think of it: the tone of the answer, the review sites it relies on, and what it says customers praise and criticise. Citeon AI asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity every week and keeps every answer.
Which AI engines are asked?
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, the engines that answer in a chat. Google AI Overviews and AI Mode are results pages, not chat answers, so they are not asked this question; they stay in your visibility tracking.
Does a reputation question count towards my visibility score?
No. Reputation answers are kept apart: they never count in your mention rate, recommendation rate, share of voice or your question allowance.
Which rivals are compared?
Up to three: the competitors you keep as peers first, then the ones AI names most in your answers of the last 28 days. Marketplaces and media are left out.
Do you store my Google reviews?
No. Ratings and review counts are read from Google each time the page opens and are not kept, as Google's terms require. They appear only for businesses customers visit.
Which social networks do you read?
Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X and Quora, plus Google News, through the pages Google shows for your name on each in the past week; Hacker News through its own search; Bluesky through its own. Private accounts, closed groups and stories are not covered, and no network shows every post, so the figures are the posts found.
Is this review management?
No. Citeon AI reads what the engines say; it does not post replies or ask for reviews. What it gives you is the list of points customers criticise, in the engines' words, so you know what to answer and where.

Social mentions
Posts and articles that name you or a rival, read once a week, in one table: a row per network, a column per brand. The networks AI answers cite most for your questions come first, because a mention there can reach an answer.
Not covered: private accounts, closed groups, stories, and Mastodon, which runs on thousands of separate servers.
Only posts count, never profiles or job ads. A post counts when it names you by a name that is not an everyday word or links to your site; when only a plain name stands in it, a model must confirm, with a sentence quoted from it, that it is about you. Your own posts are left out where the address or Google shows who posted. Only the link and the date are kept, for 90 days; never the text.
Google shows a sample, and the same search can show different pages from one day to the next, so posts found add up across reads and the page says these are the posts found, not every post. A network read with nothing found says with its number of reads, never 0; one not read yet shows a dash.
